I have an event photography co and use a number pf sub-contract photographers - is there any way to use this to share the details of the job with them on their iPhone?? You've restored my faith and (as a developer) I completely understand the balancing act of putting out something you're proud of and putting out something in a reasonable timeframe! Looking forward to the release and consider my nervousness squelched :) Thanks for the quick response! I take full responsibility for where we are though. In a nutshell... I commissioned Second Shootr 2.0 back in May 2010. I decided our developers should re-write SS from scratch and implement a number of changes to the workflow, look and feel etc of the app. Once the app was developed, I wasn't happy with it and decided that rather than put a rubbish product out there, we'd start again and do it properly. This takes us to about Feb 2011 (when this post was made) when I decide we should add other features (ability to sync with a computer) and that's been in development ever since. Now I realise that I've asked for too much in one go and you (the all important customer) haven't seen any updates for ages. So the new plan is to focus back on the iPhone/iPad app and get it out as soon as possible (whilst maintaining quality). The app is very nearly ready to go, it has two major bugs at the moment but I'm confident they will be fixed soon. From there we'll focus back on the syncing and release that sometime in the new year. We absolutely are still alive.. just not where I’d like us to be right now. Comment on Why the Mac App Store (probably) isn’t for us (yet) by Anonymous http://www.blog.secondshootr.com/why-the-mac-app-store-probably-isnt-for-us-yet/comment-page-1/#comment-58 Anonymous Wed, 09 Mar 2011 15:58:00 +0000 http://www.blog.secondshootr.com/?p=182#comment-58 While I currently use a PC, I admire your perspective. If a program is good, why not offer it to everyone? Currently, I think the best way to close the gap between different operating systems, and coding issues, is to use web-based computing (cloud) as the engine. The data can be saved on the user's platform(s) and the program run on the web. That makes it easy to run the app from any platform and store the data on the local device (which could be synced or copied across the user's devices). I'm totally turned off by your negativity! I'm super excited about all the advancements and I can't wait to see what they come up with next! You don't have to do anything, if you'd rather not do a desktop app then don't, to me it's as simple as that! Go Apple! Wow! I’m totally turned off by your negativity!
